What is an On-Grid (Grid-Tied) Solar System?

An on-grid system connects your rooftop solar to the utility grid through a bidirectional (net) meter. When your system generates more than you consume, surplus units are exported to the grid and credited on your bill. At night or on cloudy days, you draw power from the grid normally.

  • Core components : PV modules, on-grid inverter, AC/DC protection, mounting structure, net meter.
  • Maintenance :Low—no moving parts; periodic cleaning and checks.
  • Warranties : Typical 25-year module performance, 5–10 year inverter (varies by brand).
Solar Subsidy

Subsidy for Residential Rooftop (PM Surya Ghar)

Eligible households can receive Central Financial Assistance (CFA) for rooftop systems when applying via the official National Portal and installing through an empanelled vendor. Jashsun provides complete assistance—from registration to commissioning documents and subsidy disbursal support.

How to Apply (Official)

Register on the National Portal for Rooftop Solar.

Select your State and DISCOM, submit consumer details.

Choose an empanelled vendor (Jashsun can be your executing partner), complete site survey & technical feasibility.

Install the system, complete inspection & net meter formalities with DISCOM.

Upload commissioning documents and bank details for subsidy processing.

Go to National Portal Consumer Application (with Jashsun)

  • Valid domestic electricity connection at the installation address.
  • Installation on your own roof or legally permitted space.
  • No duplicate solar subsidy availed for the same premise.

Standard on-grid systems shut down during outages for safety (anti-islanding). For backup, add a hybrid inverter + battery.

Capacity depends on your average monthly units and roof area. As a thumb rule, 1 kW produces ~4 units/day (location dependent). We’ll size it after a quick audit.

Typical 2–10 kW homes finish in ~2–7 days on-site, with net-meter approvals adding extra time based on DISCOM.
